married to her now bereaved husband, J O Fields, on the 18th day of
May, 1906. This union is blessed with two children , Paul and Fern. She
was converted at Minson church in Blissville Township, about 15 years
ago, and united with the M. E. Church, and on coming to Mt. Vernon she
placed her membership in the First Church, and was a member of same at

be her friends. She had been in failing health for some months. A hard
fight was made by skilled physicians to save her life. The disease
developed rapidly and after weeks of intense suffering she passed without
a struggle to be with Christ and rejoice forever more in the glory
world. She passed away, March the 6th, 1914, age 32 years, 9 months, and
six days. "Asleep in Jesus! Peaceful rest. Whose waking is supremely
blessed! No fear, no woe, shall dim that hour that manifests a Saviors
power. A husband, two children, father, mother, three brothers, two
sisters, and a hist of relatives and friends remain to mourn their loss.
The funeral was conducted from the Wesley M. E. Church at 2 o'clock,
Sunday afternoon, March 8th, by the Rev. J.C. Kinison and the Rev. C.C.
Hall. The body was laid to rest in the Oakwood Cemetery.
