LON GOESSMAN DIED SUDDENLY



Lon L. GOESSMAN, highly respected farmer 
residing on the Jefferson-Franklin County 
line died suddenly at home at 4:30 last 
friday afternoon while doing his chores.  
He was 68 years old and had been under 
treatment fo a heart ailment

He was born in Franklin co March 20, 1880 
the son of Douglas and Mary BROWN GOESSMAN

He is survived by his wife the former 
Jennie TAYLOR and two sons; Gale of Los Angeles, 
California and William of Chicago and one 
daughter, Mrs. Hazel HICKS of Mt. Vernon, 
seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, 
one sister Mrs. Vella PORTER of Sesser.

Mr GOESSMAN formerly was employed as a miner 
but later years followed the farming occupation

Funeral services were held at Rescue Free Will 
Baptist church near Whittington conducted by 
Rev. Riley BURTON and burial in Kirk Cemetery 
at Ina
