Gilbert F. Hart

Gilbert F. Hart, 52, of 1616 S. 10th St., died at 2:05 p.m. yesterday at the Veterans Hospital, Marion.
Mr. Hart was a former schoolteacher, and was later the greenskeeper at Indian Hills golf course.
He was a veteran of World War II.  He enlisted in the Army July 11, 1942, and was discharged Nov. 16, 1945.  
He served with the 680th Ordinance Company.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Hughey-Pulley Funeral home, with the Rev. Buss Hart 
officiating. Burial will be in Knob Prairie cemetery at Waltonville.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. today.
Military graveside rites will be performed by American Legion Post 141 and VFW Post 1376, both of Mt. Vernon.

Mr. Hart was born Oct. 21, 1920, at Waltonville, the son of Fred and Ruth (Gilbert) Hart.
He was married, in Mt. Vernon, to Esther Kirkpatrick.  She survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his step-father and mother.  Mr. and Mrs. Luther Hart, of Mt. Vernon; a son, 
Freddie Hart, of Mt. Vernon; three step-sons, Dennis Frees, of Mt. Vernon, Gary Daniels, of Bluford, and Earl Daniels, 
of Genoa; a daughter, Linda Hart, of Ohio; a step-daughter, Mrs. Doris June Howell, of Wayne City; two grandchildren; 
a brother, Robert Hart, of Mt. Vernon; two step-brothers, Clifford Hart and Dwain Hart, both of Centralia; two sisters, 
Mrs. Gladys Ceglinski, of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Gertie Richardson, of Woodlawn; and a step-sister, Mrs. Opal Street, of 
Centralia.

Mr. Hart was preceded in death by his father, a brother, and two sisters.
