FRANKLIN PIERCE HESTER
Frank HESTER Found Dead At Waltonville. Prominent Retired Business Man Victim
of Heart Attack This Morning. Frank Pierce HESTER, prominent retired Waltonville
business man, was found dead on the floor of a barn at this home shortly after eight
o'clock this morning, the victim of a heart attack. His age was 72 years, four months
and one day. Mr. HESTER, who was in the mercantine business in Scheller for six
years and operated a store in Waltonville for 20 years, had been retired for some time.
He ad not been in good health and was not able to do chores around the home. He
went to the barn this morning to feed the cow and when Mrs. HESTER went there
to milk a short time later she found him lying on the floor of the barn.
Coroner Howard HESTER, his son, died last September. Mr. HESTER was a member
of the First Methodist Church of Waltonville. He was a member of Modern Woodmen
and had been a member of the I.O.O.F. and the Masonic lodges.
He was born September 8, 1867. He was first united in marriage with Susan BEAN
who proceded him in death. To this union three children were born: Glen, a son,
died in infancy. O. O. HESTER of Mt. Vernon and Mrs. Hazel LEWIS of Toledo,
Ohio, survive.
In 1901 he was married to Mamie E. DUDLEY and five children where born to this
union. Surviving are Ralph of Aurora, Miss Marian DANNER of Mt. Vernon and
Fay and Margaret at Home. Howard HESTER preceded him in death. He is also
survived by three brothers and two sisters. Funeral Arrangements had not been
completed today.
