Passes Away
Funeral services for Leonard
Cleveland Hester, 78, who died
on Tuesday of last week at the
Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt.
Vernon, were held Thursday at
the Elk Prairie Christian Church
where he was a member. Rev.
Lester Pifer officiated and burial
took place at Abner cemetery.
Mr. Hester, whose home was
south of Nason, had been ill for
several months following a
stroke.
He was born In Elk Prairie
township, the son of James Hen-
ry and Victoria Casey Hester.
He was twice married, his first
wife the former Blanche Mon-
roe, preceding him in death.
He was married to Sadie Bean
Morgan on August 29, 1942. who
survives.
Also surviving are one stepson,
Donald Morgan of Chicago; one
step - daughter, Mrs. Charles
Owens of Mt, Vernon and two
nieces who were reared in his
home, Mrs. Gordon Metcalf of
Bonnie, and Mrs. Max Moore of
Sesser.
