Mary M. Hicks, Teacher Here 25 Years, is Dead
Miss Mary Margaret Hicks, a teacher in the Mt. Vernon grade school system
for 25 years, died at 12:25 p.m. Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She was 44 years, four months and 29 days of age.
Miss Hicks was stricken with a cerebral hemhorrage four months ago and had been
a hospital patient since that time. She never fully regained consciousness after
being stricken. She was teaching at Franklin school when she became ill.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Central church of Christ.
The Rev. J. G. Parsons will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery.
The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Miss Hicks resided at 2225 College.
She was born January 21 1910 at Rochester, Ill., the daughter of Simon B. and Anne (Davis) Hicks.
She is survived by a sister, Mrs. Grace H. DeMent of Berwick, PA.
