Minnie Pauline Hodgson

Minnie Pauline Hodgson, 88, of Mt. Vernon died 10:45 p.m. 
Dec. 23, 2004, at her home. 

She was born May 6, 1916, at Englewood, Tenn., to Ed Gentry 
and Bessie (Copeland) Gentry. She was married to Jim Hodgson; he 
preceded her in death. She was retired from C.R. Rawhide Industry.  

Graveside services are set for 1 p.m. today at Odd Fellow’s Cemetery 
in Dahlgren. Those attending this service are asked to go directly to 
the cemetery on Monday. The Rev. Kenneth Holland will officiate. 
Visitation was 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hughey Funeral Home. 

Survivors include brother Jerry Gentry of Elgin; nephews Robert Gentry 
and wife Jane of Dahlgren, Jerry Overby of Belle Rive, and Jimmy Holland 
of Elgin; nieces Joyce Wyatt and husband Luther of St. Charles, Donna 
Pierce of Bonnie and Teresa Hudgins and husband Dick of Glendale, Ariz. 

She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers Ralph, Edward and 
Abie Gentry; sisters Bertha, Dorothy and Thirsie. 

She was of the Baptist Faith. 

For those who wish, memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s 
choice and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey 
Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL, 62864. Arrangements have been 
entrusted to the care of Hughey Funeral Home, where you may call 618-242-3348
