Student Dies In Florida Crash; Burial In Mt. Vernon

Horace B. Huddle, Jr. was killed in an automobile accident last night in Florida.

He was the grandson of the late Norman Piercy of Mt. Vernon and will be buried here in the family plot beside the grave of his father, Dr. Horace B. Huddle who died last December.

The young man, a 19-year-old engineering student, was on his way home from the University of Florida at Gainesville to spend the Mother's Day weekend with his mother, the former Norma Piercy of Mt. Vernon, at Coral Gables.

Funeral plans are incomplete.

Surviving besides the mother are a sister, Mrs. L. L. Wohlford of 1108 Perkins Avenue, Mt. Vernon, two brothers, Lieut. Commander Norman P. Huddle of Washington, D.C., and Garland of Coral Gables.

Horace Huddle Rites in Mt. Vernon Next Tuesday

Funeral services for Horace B. Huddle, Jr., 19, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Myers Chapel. The Rev. Eugene Holcomb will officiate and burial will be in the New Shiloh cemetery.

The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Monday.

Huddle, who resided in Coral Gables, Florida, was killed in an automobile accident Thursday night in Florida.

He was the brother of Mrs. L. L. Wohlford of Mt. Vernon and a nephew of Mrs. Frank Walker and Max Piercy of this city.

The young man was born February 10, 1940 in Johnson City, Tennessee, the son of Horace B. Huddle, Sr. and Norma (Piercy) Huddle.

He is survived by his mother; a sister, Mrs. L. L. Wohlford of Mt. Vernon and two brothers, Lt. Commander Norman P. Huddle of Washington D.C., and Garland E. Huddle of Coral Gables, Fla.
