J. W. LEE

J. W. LEE, a highly respected resident of Spring Garden 
died at his home  in Ina, a 2 O’ clock Sunday morning 
at the age of 85 years.

Funeral services were held at two O’clock this afternoon 
at the Ina Baptist Church, conducted  by Rev. Phipps of 
Norris City and burial was in Kirk Cemetery.

Mr. LEE was born in Mt. Vernon on February 1, 1854 and 
was united in marriage  to Derusha MC TALLY 60 years ago on 
February 1..  the celebrated their anniversary two weeks ago 
and their picture appeared in the Mt. Vernon register News.

Mr. Lee resided on a farm near Mt. Vernon until 29 years ago, 
when he located on a farm three miles southeast of Ina.  
About twelve years ago, he and his wife moved to Ina, 
where he resided at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife and five children; Mrs. Anna KIRK, 
Postmistress of Ina, Allie and Oscar LEE of Ina, Vern LEE of 
West Frankfort and Harry LEE of Eisberry, Missouri.

His was the grandfather of John A. KIRK , Mt. Vernon City Attorney, 
Dr. Max KIRK of Meader____and Miss Alma LEE, a teacher in the Ina Schools.
