Gertrude Loker, Sesser Burial: Maple Hill, Sesser
Gertrude Loker, 96, Sesser, died 4:15 p.m. Jan. 18, 1989, at
Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.
Mrs. Loker was born Nov. 2, 1892, in Sesser, a daughter of Sam and
Lovina (Almon) Scott. Nov. 30, 1913, in St. Genevieve, Mo., she married Edgar
Loker, who preceded her in death.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Brayfield Funeral Home in Sesser
with the Revs. John Wright and Clarence Taylor officiating. Burial will follow
in Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Loker is survived by two daughters, Louise Case and Viola
Roberts, both of Sesser; three grandsons, Lyle Roberts, Eddie Roberts and Danny
Case; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Eddie
Scott of Farmington, Mo.; and several nieces and cousins.
Mrs. Loker was a member of Church of God in Sesser.
Mrs. Loker was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two
sons, one granddaughter, one grandson, one brother, two sisters and three half
