OBITUARIES |
Ellen P. Manley Funeral services for Ellen P. MANLEY, 70, 314 S. 4th Street, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hughey Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael SANDERS officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Valier. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. MANLEY died at 7:06 p.m. Monday in Good Samaritan Hospital. She was the owner and operator of Ellen's Cafe for several years. Mrs. MANLEY was born in Christopher May 8, 1913, the daughter of William and Flora (TAYLOR) PAGE. She married William DOWNEN who preceded her in death. She later married O. T. PAGE. She later married John Leroy MANLEY, who died July 14, 1964. Survivors include two daughters, Ruby SCOTT of Mt. Vernon and Flora ROMO of Vallejo, Calif.; two sons, Robert E. DOWNEN of Vacaville, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two stepsons, Jerry and Lewis G. MANLEY of Mt. Vernon; one sister, Mrs. Syble Veal of Valier, and several nieces and nephews. Mt. MANLEY was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers and a sister, Wanita DENNIS.
