Mrs Steve Marlow Dies at Collins
Mrs Steve Marlow, 74, passed away at her home in Collins at 9:00 am Wednesday June 14.
She had been in failing health for several years and took seriously ill Sunday. She had
been a resident of Marshall and Story counties for thirty one years.
Mrs Marlow was born April 5, 1870 near Mount Vernon, Ill., a daughter of Caroline and
Savnor Bruce. She was married to Steven Marlow February 23, 1888. To this union eight
children were born, one dying in infancy. The surviving children are George of Ames, Harry,
Curtis and Mrs Donald Titus of Collins, Keith of San Francisco, Calif., and Mrs Roy Clemons
and Mrs Ben Kelley of Marshalltown. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and one
great grandson, one sister Mrs Laura Hawkins and one brother Sam Bruce, of St Louis, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 1:00 pm and at the First Presbyterian church in
State Center at 2:00 pm Sunday, June 18.
