OBITUARIES |
Edyth Martin Edyth Martin, wife of Harry Martin, passed away at her home 2700 West College street today. Mrs. Martin was born Sept. 29 1889, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Newton Dukes. She was united in marriage to Harry Martin in 1915. To this union were born three children, James 6, Nellie Viola 3, and Betty Jane 12 months, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by two brothers, Lee Dukes And Nelson McCormick of Mt. Vernon and three sisters, Mable Jones, Centralia, Bessie Hayes of Hammond Ind, and Nellie Hodges of this city. She was a devout christian having faith in Christ at an early age and was was afiliated with the Limestone Baptist Church where she was a member at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant Hill Baptist church, 7 miles noth of Mt. Vernon Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. Source: Newspaper Clipping Date: 1924 Submitted by: Jerry A.
