Of Scheller Died
At Age 40


Joe Martin, 40, Scheller, died Saturday night at his home.  
His death is being investigated by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Mr. Martin was a farmer and a coal miner.

He was born in Jefferson County Aug. 14, 1940, the son of Mervin and 
Anita (Newbury) Martin.

In 1961 he married Patricia Frick, who survives.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Brayfield Funeral Home 
in Sesser with the Rev. Clifford Burney officiating.

Burial will follow in the Old Baptist Cemetery near Sesser.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Besides his wife, survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Martin 
of Sesser; two sons, Troy and John, both at home; one daughter, Joy at home; 
one brother, Ernie Martin of Waltonville and one sister, Dorothy Lacey of Waltonville.
