HAPPY HOME BROKEN BY GRIM INVASION
Mrs. Henry Maxey Ill for Five Years From Effect of Cancer - Born in This County
At 5:50 Tuesday morning, March 28, the spirit left the body of Mrs. Henry Maxey,
and took it's upward flight to the mansion of rest. Mary J. Keller was born in Jefferson
county, Nov. 19, 1866 and at the time of her death was 44 years, 4 months and 9 days of age.
She was the daughter of the late Willis A. Keller and his wife. October 3, 1888, she became
the wife of Henry Maxey and a happy home was made. The home was brightened by the birth
of Lester and again by the advent of little Helen. These heartbroken children, now almost grown,
with a bereaved husband, survive. The other near relatives are one sister, Mrs. Lou Jones, and
C. R. Keller, a brother, both of this city. The half brothers and sisters are J. D. rentchler, Mt. Vernon,
J.W. Rentchler, Belleville; Mrs. Clara A. Hess, Pittsfield, IL.; C. A. Keller, Mrs. Minnie E. Frohock
and Mrs. Sarah E. Yost, San Antonia, Tex.; and Mrs. Amanda Lloyd, Pembroke, Ky.
The funeral will be conducted at the First M. E. church, Wednesday afternoon, at 2 o'clock, by
Rev. C.D. Shumard, of Mt. Carmel. The body will lie in state at the residence, 810 North St.,
from 10 until 12 Wednesday. Interment will be conducted at Oakwood.
