Reta Fay Meadows, 14, of Route 5, Mt. Vernon, died at 10:25 p.m. 
yesterday at her home after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Osborn Funeral 
Home in Dix.  The Rev. Verneil Garren will officiate.  Burial will be 
in the Boyd cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home where friends may call 
after 5:00p.m. Saturday.

She was a seventh grade student at Rome Consolidated School in Dix.

She was the daughter of John W. and Ethel M. (Carpenter) Meadows.  She 
was born in Jefferson county on June 7, 1957.

She is survived by her parents, one brother, John H. Meadows of Mt. 
Vernon; a half brother, Edward Tate of Dix; five sisters, Shirley Mick of 
Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Betty Beckham and Mrs. Sharion Johnson, both of 
Woodlawn, and Mrs. Ida Reeves and Mrs. Vera Hayes, both of Mt. Vernon; and 
seven nephews and eight neices.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and her grandparents.
