Ora B. Piercy Ora B. Piercy, 88, died at 7:20 p.m. June 23, 1990 at Rosewood Care Center in Swansea. Mrs.Piercy was born March 30, 1903, in Paragould, Ark., daughter of Alva and Hattie (Hamlin) Elliston, on June 24, 1918, in Mt. Vernon, she married Walter E. Piercy, who died July 18, 1982. Services will be 2:00p.m. Tuesday at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix with the Revs. Don Johnston and Gary Piercy, who is Mrs. Piercy's grandson. Burial will follow in Boyd Cemetery. Friends may call after 6:00 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Piercy is survived by five sons, Vernon R. Piercy and wife Dorothy of Livingston, Texas, Clarence E. Piercy of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Leroy Piercy and wife, Doris of Mt. Vernon, Bill E. Piercy and wife Doris of Tuscola, and Robert W. Piercy and wife, Marilyn, of Sugarland Texas: three daughters, Louise Bruce of Mt. Vernon, Katherine Toney of Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. Robert (Elsie) Parker of Fairview Heights; one brother Walter Elliston of McLeansboro; three sisters, Mabel Harmon and Eula Brookman, both of Mt. Vernon, and Velma Mooney of Dix; 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Piercy was a member of Boyd Pentecostal Church.
