Fred Pigg
            
Fred Pigg, a retired riveter at Mt. Vernon Car Manufacturing Company, died at 1:40 pm, 
yesterday at his home, 132 Castleton Avenue. He was 63 years, three months and five days of age.
            
Mr. Pigg started working at the car company when he was 14 years old and was steadily employed 
there until three years ago when his health failed.
            
He was born November 15, 1881 in Jefferson county, the son of Granville H. and Frances E.(Pigg) 
Pigg, and was married in 1908 to Eva Badgett who preceded him in death May 13, 1933.
            
Surviving are a son, M/Sgt. Frank C. Pigg somewhere in Belgium, his aged mother, three sisters, 
Mrs. Ethel Russell, Mrs. Minnie Hopper, Mrs. Della Dedman, all of Mt. Vernon. Two daughters who 
died in infancy, two brothers, a sister and his father preceded his in death.
            
Mr. Pigg was a member of the Epworth Church which he joined 26 years ago and of the Railway 
Carmen's local.
            
Funeral services will be held at the Pulley Funeral Home at 2:30 pm Friday with the Rev. 
Cyrus Maulding in charge.  Burial will be at Hopewell Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home.
