Laverne Poston, 43, of Belle Rive, a plastering contractor, was dead
on arival at Good Samaritan Hospital at 7 p.m. Sunday.
Mr. Poston was born in Mt. Vernon March 16, 1932, the son of Fred B.
and Myrtle B. (Wilmore) Poston. He was married on Dec. 29, 1951, in
Mt. Vernon, to Donna Jones, who survives.
Mr. Poston was a member of the North Loves Park church, Loves Park.
Funeral survices will be held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the
Hughey-Pully Funeral home, with the Rev. Howard Rowe officiating.
Burial will be in the East Hickory Hill cemetery. Friends may call
at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Mr. Poston is survived by his mother Mrs. Myrtle Poston, Mt. Vernon;
his wife , Donna Poston, Belle Rive, two sons, Dennis Ray Poston, Mt.
Vernon, and Roger Allen Poston, at home; two daughters, Mrs. Debra Jones,
Bluford, and Miss Tersa Jean Poston, at home; one grandchild,
Elizabeth Ann Poston, three brothers, Gale Poston, Ross Poston, and Larry
Poston, all of Mt. Vernon; and four sisters, Mrs. Christine Burton, Catlin,
Mrs. Ester Lawrence, Montgomery, Ala., Mrs. Marcella Ethridge, Mt.
Vernon, and Mrs. Nadine Ward, Mt. Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his father, two sisters, and one brother.
