|
George Washington SPANGLER, was born in Washington county, Ill.
on Feb. 21, 1884, and departed this life Jan. 11, 1915, aged 30 years,
10 months and 21 days.
He was married to Minnie Rose PITCHFORD, August 20, 1905, and
to this union four children were born, two sons and two daughters, all of
whom, with his wife, survive. The deceased is also survived by a father, five
brothers and a host of other relatives. George W. SPANGLER has resided
in the community near Pisgah church for the past fifteen years, and was well
known by all. He had always lived a moral life and perhaps never had an enemy.
He gave his life to the Saviour just eight weeks and one day before he went with
Him in His heavenly home. On Nov. 15, 1914, he was baptized by Rev.
HATTEN, his pastor. Just a few hours before the end came he said to his pastor,
when questioned concerning his faith: "I am alright."
Funeral services were conducted at Pisgah church by Rev. HATTEN and wife,
Jan. 13, 1915, and the body was laid in its lasting resting place in Pisgah cemetery.
