Media Stewart, 51, Dies Here While Attending Church
Mrs. Media Bean Stewart, of RFD 1, Mt. Vernon, died suddenly from a
heart attack at 8:30 Saturday night while attending services at the
Church of Christ, 2416 Cherry street.
She was 51 years, one month and 26 days of age.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of Christ,
with the pastor, the Rev. Layton Hall, officiating. Burial will be in
South Hickory Hill cemetery.
The body will remain at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call.
Mrs. Stewart was born April 16, 1903 in Jefferson county, the daughter of
Adam and Sarah (Dees) Bean.
She was married to Virgil Stewart, who survives.
Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving, besides her husband, are three sons, LaVerne of Benton, Ky.,
Morris of Bonnie and Clifford of Noble, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs. Irma
Humphrey of Carbondale; seven grandchildren; one brother, Frank Bean of
Waltonville; and two sisters, Lillie Stewart of Mt. Vernon and Fern Wells of Scheller.
