Roy Teal

Mr. Teal was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Saline County to 
Charles and Mina (Sittig) Teal. He married Jean Ferguson 
July 30, 1957, in Ridgway; she survives. 

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey 
Funeral Home. The Rev. Vola Sittig will officiate. Burial 
will be at Belle Rive Flint Cemetery. Friends may call from 
5 to 7 p.m. today at Hughey Funeral Home. 

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, 
Kathy Sue Bocock and husband Dennis of Mt. Vernon; five 
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Raleigh 
Teal and wife Helen of Mt. Vernon; also several nieces and 
nephews including Mt. Vernon area residents Larry Schilling 
and wife Judy of Dahlgren and Jennifer Rowe and husband Mike 
of Mt. Vernon. 

Mr. Teal was a member of Belle Rive Christian Church. He was a 
Coal Belt Fire Association Volunteer for 40 years and was the 
longest volunteer associated with the group. He was also a member 
of the Belle Rive Volunteer Fire Department. He was preceded in 
death by his parents; four brothers; and four sisters. 

For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the 
Belle Rive Volunteer Fire Department and will be accepted at 
the funeral home. Hughey Funeral Home is assisting the family 
with funeral arrangements and you may call at 242-3348 for 
information at any time.
