Relieved by Death J.C. Williams Passed Away Friday Morning, Aged 74 J.C. Williams, age 74 whose home was about four miles East of this city, died at the hospital about 9 o'clock Friday morning Sept. 22. He was operated on Wednesday for an abscess and on Thursday morning seemed to be improving but late in the day he grew worse and in the evening lost consciousness and passed away Friday morning. He was an earnest worker in the Baptist church and had the confidence of those with whom he had acquaintance. Mr. Williams was born in Tennessee and came to this county when a young man settling near the place of the present family residence. He leaves a wife, one brother and five children, besides many other relatives. The children are S.W. Williams, Mrs. Wm. Shelton, Mrs. Wm. Rainey, Mrs. Louis Highsmith and Mrs. Daniel Scott, all residents of this county. His brother resides in California. The funeral will be held at the family residence Sunday and the body laid away in the Williams cemetery a piece of land donated by Mr. Williams as a home for the dead. **Note from Sandy: Jonathan Calvin Williams was married to Prudence Jane Atchison 12 Aug 1852. Jonathan was the son of Samuel Isaiah Williams and Keziah (Kesiah) Morriset. Source: Mt.
