Paul Williams, 83, of 403 W. Church St., Benton, died at 5 p.m. Sunday in
Franklin Hospital, Benton. He was born Feb. 3, 1890, in Jefferson County, to T.
P. and Tennessee Elizabeth Kelly Williams. Mr. Williams worked as a lumber
yard attendant for 39 years in Benton. He was a member of the First United
Methodist Church, Benton. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, the former Ada
Stanfield; three sons, Kenneth Williams, Ballwin, Mo., Wendell and Charles,
both of Benton; a daughter, Jeanne Havens, Elkville; a sister, Rella Rea,
Glendale, Calif.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Funeral
services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church,
Benton, The Rev. Earl Dickey and the Rev. H. V. Knight will officiate. burial will
be in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery, Benton. Friends may call at the
Mitchell Funeral Home, Benton, after 5 p.m. today.
