Marcel DANDURAND dit Marcheterre born about 1784, died 1865 Bourbonnais
Louis BETOURNE born 1795 Longueil, Chambly PQ, died 1879 Bourbonnais
Francois GOYETTE born 1822 St. Mathias, died 1906 Kankakee Co.
Theotine Timothy GIROUX born 1800 St. Johns, PQ died 1876 Bourbonnais
Louis DESCHAMPES born about 1801 moved out of Kankakee Co. before 1860
Dominique BRAIS born 1807 earliest settler in area before 1837.
Jean Baptiste BENOIT married to Constance DANDURAND sister of Marcel DANDURAND.
William RANTZ born 1803 Columbia PA, died 1871. Although not French Canadian, he was an early settler of the area, coming to the area and building one of the first forges on the prairie in June 1837. He also operated a saw mill which supplied the country side with the materials needed to construct housing and other implements. His son James Polk married the youngest daughter of Francois BALTHAZOR.
Charles TEBEAULT born about 1801 in PQ . Family moved away from area about 1860, the same time as the DESCHAMPES. Both the families probably went to Iroquois County first, and then ????
Jean Baptiste TREMBLAY married to Genevieve AUDET sister to Jean Baptiste AUDET.
Alexine CASTONEAU nothing known about him or his family yet, but Burt Burroughs names him as one of the original settlers of the area.
