Kane County, IL Probate and Guardianship Records, housed in local historical societies
The Kane County Genealogical Society is proud to announce its latest publication, which is sure to advance family history research.
This 188, spiral bound book is rooted in activities dating back 10 years, when the Kane County Circuit court began to microfilm the probate records as a way to address space issues. The KCGS lead the effort to preserve the original records by coordinating the distribution of the documents to 12 historical societies throughout the county.
KCGS worked with these local agencies to create this new publication, which contains approximately 34,000 entries, covering the span of probate records from the county’s inception in 1836 through the late 1950’s.
