The History of Kane County, Illinois is a 2 volume set published in 1908 by the R. Waite and Frank Joslyn.  This history is an important research tool and is one of the most frequently cited resources used by those researching Kane County families.  The original volume was comprised of 2 distinct volumes, with the first highlighting communities and history of numerous villages, cities and townships of Kane County.  The second volume contains biographies of many Kane County residents.  Over 23,000 names are contained in the 1780 pages of this publication.

In order to make this resource available again, the Kane County Genealogical Society is honored to offer both the volumes on a fully searchable digital image of the book on CD-ROM.

This volume, available only on CD-ROM, allows for a simple search of

·         Word Phrase.

Unlike other digital images, searches conducted using the KCGS prepared image will be linked directly to the page on which the search request appears.  There is no need to read through copious quantities of text to find the desired information.

Text and graphics are clearly and easily printed to any ink jet or laser printer.   The CD version of this volume allows the researchers to obtain page copies without damaging the bindings of the original book.
