Collection description:

Currently, the Geneva History Center serves as a "de facto" archives for Kane County, as the center is located in the county seat and the county does not maintain an archive facility. The History Center collection includes Kane County directories, census records, Kane County histories, Civil War records, Kane County Poor farm records, Kane County Court records, in addition to archival material related to Geneva.

Research policy:
Researchers are strongly encouraged to make an appointment before visiting the History Center. The brief description of the collection only provides a short list of the History Center's archival collection.
