Holy Cross Church in Deerfield is in the Chicago Archdiocese. The parish was organized in 1909. Before that parishioners attended church at St. Patrick in West Lake Forest or at Immaculate Conception Church in Highland Park. A frame church was built and it was dedicated that year. Holy Cross was a mission of St. Patrick until 1929. A school was started in 1937.
A new church building was needed because the population was growing. The new church and school building was ready in 1957.
The Family History Library in Salt Lake City has microfilmed baptisms, marriages, and communions from Holy Cross Church for 1909-1919.
