[Page 18]  HENRY FETZER - Streator lawyer.  Began practice here in 1894.  He came to this county in 1874 from Ohio, but was native of Virginia.  His birth near Winchester, April 11, 1854.  His parents were William and Catharine (STICKLEY) FETZER, and the great-great grandparents on both sides were of German birth.  The FETZERS became residents of Pennsylvania, and the STICKLEYS located in Frederick County, Maryland.  Their descendants emigrated to Woodstock, Shenandoah Co., Virginia.  The paternal grandfather of our subject was Joachim FETZER, who was born in Virginia, and lives near Woodstock.  William, the father was a farmer, and he died in 1887, age seventy-eight years.  Henry FETZER spent 15 years in Virginia.  He ran away to Belmont Co., Ohio.  In 1874 he came to La Salle County, Illinois, where he taught school.  Then went to Grinnell, Kansas, but in 1880 came back to Illinois.  Graduated in 1894 from law department at Northwestern University.
