[Page 26]  SAMUEL PLUMB - Born in New York, January 15, 1812, and died at Colorado Springs, June 23, 1882.  He was son of Theron and Harriet (MERRY) PLUMB.  He was president of a bank at Oberlin, and represented Ashtabula County in the Ohio legislature.  He came to Streator, Illinois in 1869.  He married Miss Levancia HOLCOMB.  She was born in New York, a daughter of Hiram and Jane (RICHARDS) HOLCOMB, and was brought to Ohio by her parents when she was twelve.  Samuel PLUMB and Levancia were married in 1865.  They had the following children:  May E., wife of R. A. HARRIS, M. D., of Redlands, Calif.;  Jessie, who married H. A. SCHRYVER, of Wheaton, Ill.;  S. Walter, of Streator;  Bertha M., wife of L. B. FRAZIER, of Aurora, Ill.  The grandchildren are:  Harold R. HARRIS, son of R. A. and May E. (PLUMB) HARRIS;  S. Walter PLUMB Jr., son of S. Walter and Anna D. PLUMB;  Donald PLUMB FRAZIER, son of L. B. and Bertha (PLUMB) FRAZIER.
