Born near Brownsville, Pennsylvania, September 25, 1848, son of Harrison and Maria (LEONARD) REEVES, the former of Scotch-English descent and the latter of Welsh-German. The father was also a native of Penn. When eight years old he came with parents to La Salle Co., Illinois. In 1875 he was admitted to bar, and opened practice at Streator. He was married in 1876 to Miss Metta M. COGSWELL, of Connecticut, daughter of Lucius T. COGSWELL.
