[Page 62] VICTOR J. PELTIER - Founder and superintendent of the Novelty Glass Company of Ottawa. A native of Lorraine, France (now German), was born sixty-six years ago. His father, Joseph PELTIER, was born in the same locality and spent his whole life there, and the mother, Barbara (KRESLY) PELTIER, was native of Alsace, Germany. Victor came to America in 1859, and landed in N.Y.C. where he worked till 1886 when he came to Ottawa, and for three years worked at the bottling works. In 1886 he and son founded the Novelty Glass Co. In 1862 Victor J. PELTIER married Miss Mary PELTIER, daughter of Francis PELTIER. Her family of same name but not related to our subject, came to this country from Germany in 1859, and the parents both died in N.Y.C. Mr. and Mrs. PELTIER’s children were: Peter V., died December 12, 1893. Two other children have also died. Those living are: Louise, wife of Theodore ZELLERS, of Ottawa; Mary, now Mrs. Fred HEISER, of this place; Joseph E., at glass factory; Emma, in Ottawa; Sellers, in Ottawa; and Kate, is at home. Mrs. ZELLERS has four children. Mrs. HEISER has six children.
