Funeral services were held at St. Gregory's Catholic church at 9 o'clock
Tuesday morning. Interment was made in the St. Gregory's Catholic
cemetery.
Mrs. BACH was born June 14, 1859 at Peru, Ill. She was
married to J. S. (Jacob Simon) BACH August 22, 1882 and three years
later they came to Kansas where they made their home on a farm northwest
of Oketo. They lived on the farm for nearly 40 years.
Seven children were born to the union, one dying in infancy. She
is survived by her husband, her sons, Frank of Custer City, Ok,
John of Odell, Neb., Ed and George who reside on the home
farms; her daughters Ana Stacia who is at home, Mrs. Lawrence
VON ARX of Marysville; and twelve grandchildren; one sister Miss
Bell REITZ, Chicago, IL; besides a host of relatives and friends.
Miss Belle REITZ was unable to attend the funeral, but all of
the children were present. Mr. and Mrs. Theodore BACH of Franklin,
Neb. were present.
Mrs. Bach was a kind and loving mother and was esteemed and admired
by all who knew her. She was a member of the Altar Society.
MRS. MARY E. BACH, wife of J.S. (Jacob Simon) Bach died
Saturday night at the age of 69 years 5 months and 24 days after a lingering
illness of several months due to a nervous condition.
She was born on June 14, 1859, in Peru, IL. On August 22, 1882
she was untied in marriage to J. S. Bach. They came to Kansas
and located on a farm northwest of Oketo, where they resided for about
forty years. They moved to their present home in Marysville nearly
six years ago. They were the parents of seven children, one having
died in infancy. She leaves her husband, two daughters, Miss Anastasia
Bach of the home, Mrs. Lawrence Von Arx; four sons, Frank,
Custer City, OK, John, Odell, Neb., Ed and George residing
on the home farm; one sister Miss Belle Reitz, Chicago, who was
unable to be here for the funeral. She is also survived by twelve
grandchildren. All of the children were here for the funeral services.
Many friends will mourn the loss of Mrs. Bach. She was
kind and loving wife, mother, sister and neighbor. She was a devoted
Christian loving her neighbors as herself and her first duties were to
her family and church.
Mrs.. Bach held membership in St. Gregory's church and in the
Altar Society. Funeral services were held in that church with the
Rt. Rev. Bishop Francis Johannes officiating. Interment was
made in the catholic cemetery.
