This bronze marker honors Cahokia men and women who aided George Rogers Clark in his defet of the British during the American Revolution.  The dedication was part of the Cahokia Tercentennial Celebration.

The chapter held a ceremony to mark the grave of Revolutionary War patriot Pvt. David Phillips near Belleville.  Private Phillips is the ancestor of Elinor Egelston, spouse of chapter member Rex Egelston.
