	PROBATE: Lake County IL Probate Index 1848-1963, actual probate records on microfilm until about 1900. Probate files vary in size. We will check the index for the name for $10.00, includes copy of index entry. If the specific name is found in the index then the corresponding probate file itself will be examined. Copies of the probate file will be charged at an additional 25 cents per page. You will be notified of the number of pages in the probate file so you can send the correct payment. The copies are negative images, meaning white on black, and many older ones are difficult to read as they are in longhand and some have faded. You will receive the best possible copies that we can produce.
	WILLS: Lake County IL Will Index 1847-1949. We have the actual books from the courthouse. Bring your own camera and you can make a digital copy of your file in our reading room, or you can write to us and we will photocopy your file and E-mail it to you, or snail mail if you don't have access to a computer. Most wills are 1-2 pages and are included in look up fee. (If they are larger files, you will be notified of the additional postage price).
