Over the years the Society has worked on a number of projects. Some have been completed, some are still in progress, and still others are waiting in the wings. Nothing would be accomplished without our volunteers. To become a volunteer, call Aileen Hapke at 847-362-2033 for information or pick up an information sheet in the Genealogy Room at Fremont Library. Cemetery BooksSince the beginning, Joan Roden has been in charge of the readings as well as the preparation of the books. Numerous volunteers over the years have walked the cemeteries collecting the data for these books. Census Books Dorothy Dolph and others. Church List Carol Knigge (Dormant project. Originally an Illinois statewide project) Bricks for Genealogy Bobbie Briggs and Carol Knigge Family Group Sheet Notebooks Dorothy Dolph (a completed project). Most cover Fremont Township families. Genealogy Room (Fremont Library) Call 1 847-918-3208 or 1 847-918-3206 to find out if a volunteer is on duty and the room is open. Aileen Hapke trains new volunteers. Judith Wanzek handles the volunteer calendar. Karen Schumann catalogs the new materials in the main room and updates the shelf list. Bobbie Briggs and others catalog the materials in the closed stacks area. Carol Knigge manages the computers.
