I am sorry that I do not have the time to reply to queries. It is time consuming to search the many indexes that we have for Lee County. In the past I have tried to do so, but it takes away from the preparation of addition research resources.

If you know your ancestor was in Lee County, the best way of retrieving information is by visiting our society library. If that is not possible, the research committee is your next best option. The research committee is experienced in Lee County research and is one of the best ways of finding your ancestor.

If you are not sure your ancestor was in Lee County please do census research. By checking  the census you can gain information on those that were in his household. the census can give you names, ages and birthplaces. Once you have this information you are better able to request research. The societies research committee does not do census research.

If You Wish to Have Research Done...
Two organizations in Lee County will do research, the Lee County Genealogical Society and the Lee County Historical Society. I believe, the most comprehensive searching will be done by the Lee County Genealogical Society. Their resources are superior to the Historical Society. The Dixon Public Library does not do genealogy research.
