Members of the Troy
Genealogical Society discussed the contents of their library.
Those in attendance were informed that the shelving system used
in the genealogical library does not follow the Dewey Decimal
system exactly. However, the system used is easy to follow.
There was a discussion of differing storage media, old and new, and the advantages and disadvantages and life expectancy of each.
The formal presentation was followed by the attendees perusing the available material for items of interest.
Hearing and seeing how other genealogical societies save and store their information made for an interesting meeting. Our thanks to the Troy Genealogical Society for being such gracious hosts.
