Search for specific title or author in the MCGS collection:
1.  At the Edwardsville Library Home Page, click on Web Catalog. 
2.  Click on Guest to enter the search screen. 
3.  Click on "advanced" under "type of search" near the top of the page.  This will take you into the advanced search page. 
4.  Under "select database to search", click on Lewis & Clark Library System.  (NOTE: Even if this is the only choice, you must click on it.) 
5.  Under "Enter word or phrase to search" you can search the MCGS collections for a specific title or author by typing "mcgs collection", the operator "AND"  and then the name of the author or title or the keyword.  Then, under "searchrecords by:", click on Keyword.  For example, I am looking for Filby's books on passenger and immigration list.  I type in "mcgs collection AND Filby" (without the quotation marks) and click on keyword.  This returns all of Filby's books in the MCGS collection. 
Note: The search does not seem to be case sensitive. 

Search for anything in any library in the system:
1.  At the Edwardsville Library Home Page, click on Web Catalog. 
2.  Click on Guest to enter the search screen. 
3.  On the next screen, under "Please enter a word or phrase to search" type   in a keyword, subject, title, or author and press the Enter key. 
4. The result will show all the items found in all of the systme libraries. 
Note: The search does not seem to be case sensitive.
