Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Potter died at her late home, in this city, Saturday. The funeral occurred Sunday, Rev. D.J. Strain, officiating. The remains were buried at the Monroe grave yard. The deceased has been a sufferer from a cancer for some years, until death came to her relief.

On last Monday afternoon the remains of Mr. Orren Potter, of your city, were brought here and interred in the Monroe cemetery. Mr. Potter was a former resident for many years of this precinct, and was regarded as a quiet, peaceable man. As near as we can learn, he was in his 62nd year. The cause of his death was general giving way of the vital organs. Rev. Mr. Aner of your city, conducted the funeral services. The family of the deceased have the sympathy of the community. O. SKIPPER.
NOTE: Orren Potter was born in 1820 in North Carolina and he died 14 May 1882 in Virginia, IL - Cass County. His wife was Mary Elizabeth Potter who they called Elizabeth.
