Mrs. Catherine Butler, 79, who lived north of Pleasant Plains, died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday at her residence, following a short illness.

She is survived by a son, Paul, at home, and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Tom, died several years ago.

Funeral services were held Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Augustine Church in Ashland, with Rev. Vincent Heraty officiating.
