GOODMAN, DENNIS R.

GREENFIELD - Dennis R. Goodman, 44, formerly of Mount Olive, died Wednesday morning, April 3, 1996, at his home. He was a truck driver for ABF Trucking in Springfield and a member of the Charity Baptist Church of Greenfield.

Born in Carrollton May 14, 1951, he was a son of Russell Goodman and the late Almeda D. (Vandergriff) Goodman.

Surviving in addition to his father is a son, Rusty L. Goodman of Granite City, and a sister, Mrs. Brad (Connie) Price of Carrollton. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Belltown Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Foundation or American Cancer Society.


GOODMAN, FRANK D.

Frank D. Goodman, 78, of Carlinville died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 1994, at Carlinville Area Hospital in Carlinville. He was born March 26, 1916, in Eldred, the son of the Rev. John D. and Sarah E. (Carroll) Goodman. He married the former Annabelle Vandergriff Oct. 12, 1936, in Carrollton, and she died Nov. 17, 1988.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Patsy) Scoggins of Chatham and Mrs. Russell (Zelma) Naugle of Carlinville; four sons, Gene Goodman, Roger Goodman, Raymond Lee Goodman and Terry Goodman of Carlinville, and Mike Beach of Cordell, Okla.; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lena Taylor of Jerseyville and Bertha Anderson of Aberdeen, Wash.; and a brother, Russell Goodman of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond Goodman, Wesley Goodman and Harold Goodman.

Visitation was Friday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton, where the Rev. Jeanne Lischer officiated at 11 a.m. funeral services Saturday. Diane Wolfley was organist. Casketbearers were Rick Goodman, Ron Goodman, Joe Goodman, Kevin Naugle, Brian Naugle and Mike Jansen. Honorary bearers were Denny Goodman and John Goodman.

PHILLIPS, IRA W.

Ira W. Phillips, 81, of White Hall died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1993, at North American Health Care Center in White Hall. Born in Wrights March 29, 1911, the son of Jiles and Rachel (Schultz) Phillips, he married Marie Jennerjohn October 27, 1930. She died April 6, 1940. He then married Cecyle Bateman on June 25, 1942, and she died April 17, 1981.

Surviving are four daughters, Retha Rawe of Carrollton, Sue Costello of Greenfield, Marcella Gotschell of Springfield and Lulla Belle Bellingar of Florida; two sons, Donald Phillips of Alma, Ark., and Russell Phillips of Berdan; a stepson, Gary Bateman of White Hall; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Suttles of White Hall; and a brother, Grant Phillips of Butler. A daughter, a grandson, seven brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Phillips was a retired farmer.

Visitation was Friday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton where services were at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. Organist was Betty Carrico. Casketbearers were Jack Staples, Kenneth Rawe, Charles Rawe, Dennis Scroggins, Mark Walker, Rick Phillips, Bob Phillips, Paul Monroe, Robert Costello and Charles Costello. Burial was in Belltown Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the North American Health Care Center.
