Kane Township - Greene County, Illinois


This cemetery is about three-fourths of a mile north of Macoupin Creek in Kane Township. Gernigin Cemetery is about one mile east of Illinois Route 267, and on the north side of a good road.

History, Civil War listing. There is a farmer,
Isaac Gernigin in Section 20 T9N R12W in Kane
and a farmer, William Gernigin, in section 28.
There is a cemetery marking on John A. Cannedy's
Estate land in 1873 Plat Maps, page 20; 1893
Plat Maps page 49; 1915 Plat Maps p. 43.
