Betty Jane Lewis

EAST ALTON -- Betty Jane Lewis, 72, died at 11:19 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2001.

Born Dec. 20, 1928, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Nellie (Carter) Hoff.

Surviving are two sons, James Lewis of Godfrey and Dennis Lewis of Arkansas; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and two sisters, Doris Novo Gradic of North Ridge, Calif., and Margaret Pierce of Alton.

There is no visitation.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Carter Cemetery in Carrollton.

Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights is in charge of arrangements.
