Clarence Meek, 76, of 404 S. Indiana St. South Roxana, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday [15 Dec. 1978] at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis.

The Carrollton native was a retired employee of Shell Refinery, and married the former Ida Mae Lisles on June 22, 1929.

In addition to his wife, surviving are a brother, Arnot of Carrollton; and a sister, Madeleine Clardy of Kansas City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Minnie (Stout) Meek, three sisters, and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Mehl Funeral Home in Carrollton where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Richard Steinbach officiating.

Burial will be in Carter Cemetery.
