Arthur Dean Becker
CARROLLTON -- Arthur Dean Becker, 63, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at his home. Born Sept. 5, 1936, in Greene County, he was a son of Nellie (Clothier) Becker Bramley of Chesterfield and the late Joseph Becker.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961 and was a member of Kampsville American Legion. He was involved with farming his entire life and enjoyed helping with the Classic Iron Club cookouts.
He married Barbara Steidley Rohlfing April 9, 1994. She survives.
Also surviving are six daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Elliott of Greenfield, Ada and Tim Mason of Murphysboro, Connie and Sperlan Hobbs of Rolla, Mo., Patricia Becker of Carterville, Betty and Terry Haviland of Rockbridge and Teresa Becker, at home; three stepchildren, Michael (wife, Shirley) Rohlfing of Freeburg, Michelle Rohlfing of Carrollton and Mariah Rohlfing, at home; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his brothers and sisters, Bobbie Becker of Roodhouse, Lewis (wife, Laura) Becker of Mode sto, Lucy (husband, Dewayne) Coffey and Carolyn (husband, Nelson) Releford, all of Hettick. and Joyce (husband, Ron) Huggins of Chesterfield; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Florence Steidley of Hettick.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Shields Memorial Home in Greenfield, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
Interment will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery near Wrights.
