ROSEHILL CEMETERY
Greene County, IL

Thanks to Allen Handling & Terry Barnard for the above photos.

From the Gazette-Patriot, Carrollton, IL, Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 - from an article dealing with Greene County Days.

Located on the west edge of Greenfield, this well cared for cemetery also is maintained by the city of Greenfield. The cemetery, which recorded its first burial in 1835, is located on a sloping hill at the edge of town on the north side of the Berdan-Wrights blacktop road. According to information found in the records of Greenfield Baptist Church, the cemetery came into being because ladies of the local Methodist Church did not want to be buried with the Baptist Church members at Oakwood Cemetery.
