From the Gazette-Patriot, Carrollton, IL, Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002 - from an article dealing with Greene County Days.
A small cemetery located in Rubicon Township's Section 1, this burial ground occupies land now owned by the Sponsler family. Only about 20 ft. square, it has been fenced by the Sponslers to keep it from disappearing into timber. The cemetery was cleaned in the fall of 2001, at which time four tombstones and two field stones were found, the oldest dating from 1848.
