Ruth Hopkins, 69, of Roodhouse dies: set rites Friday
Mrs. Ruth Hopkins, wife of Leroy Hopkins of Roodhouse, died at 6:55 p.m. Tuesday at Passavant hospital where she had been a patient since December 21. She was 69 years of age.
She was born September 19, 1907, in White Hall, daughter of Robert and Pearl Depoister Singleton. She married Leroy Hopkins December 23, 1932. He survives with one son, Philip Hopkins of Park Ridge, and a daughter, Mrs. Lyle (Mary Ann) Winters of Roodhouse. There are two grandchildren. One brother survives, Dr. J. W. Singleton of Hayward, California.
She was preceded in death by one brother.
Mrs. Hopkins was a member of the White Hall Christian church. She was a registered nurse, graduating from Our Saviour School of Nursing.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Wolfe-Airsman Funeral Home in Roodhouse. Interment will be in the White Hall cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Cancer Society.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
